
St Margaret's Church of England, now Anglican Church was established in Pitt Street, Eltham in 1861. In 1961 it's centennary was celebrated and a small publication was produced titled "The Formative Years 1860-61 : a short history of the origins of St Margaret's, Eltham". This booklet, now in the local history collection at Eltham library also gives a brief history of Eltham itself and highlights the life of Henry Dendy who first donated the land for the site of the Church.
