Arthurs Creek History

Arthurs Creek recently celebrated 150 years of permanent settlement.  To coincide local historian Bruce Draper has published a very readable compact history of the Arthurs Creek Mechanics’ Institute which in many ways reflects the history of the local community itself.  The book is fully illustrated with historical and contemporary photographs – be sure to look for a relative in any of the group shots. The book has been published by the Institute itself and copies can be purchased from the author directly.

A copy can also be accessed via the Eltham Library local history collection. It is a new title apt for November as we look forward to a number of events to celebrate Local History Month in November at Yarra Plenty Regional Library.
