Preserving and sharing local history

Local organizations will reap the benefits from successful applications via the Local History Grants Program announced today by the Minister of the Arts Heidi Victoria.

 Congratulations to Shire of Nillumbik for its Nillumbik Heritage Boioklet update project and the Greensborough Historical Society for the production of a website.

Springthorpe Owners Corporation based in Bundoora on the border of Banyule and Darebin has also received successful funding for their heritage project.

PROV Local History Grants Program

The PROV Local History Grants Program provides small grants aimed at supporting local community groups to fund the cost of projects that
preserve, record, publish and present the history and heritage of Victoria.

Applications are now open for round 2012 - 2013 of the grants. Applications close 5pm, Monday 12 November 2012. Applications for grants of up to $15,000 will be considered.

81 Victorian groups share in $355,000

After some delay Public Records Office Victoria have announced the successful applicants in the most recent Local History Grants Program 2010-2011

Local groups have been successful. Congratulations to
Whittlesea Historical Society (City of Whittlesea) for their Whittlesea Township walking tour project
and St Andrews/Queenstown Historical Society (Shire of Nillumbik) for their Computer Database project.

Local History Grants Program

The latest round of recipients of funding from the Local History Grants Program managed by Public Records Office Victoria have been announced.

Locally, Heidelberg Historical Society have been successful in securing funding for a digitisation program.

The next round of applications opens in September 2009. I encourage members of our local history community to apply for funding for their projects.

Local History Grants Program

The Local History Grants Program (LHGP) supports projects that preserve and present Victorian local history.
The LHGP is administered by Public Record Office Victoria. The program is funded through the Community Support Fund.
Applications for the 2008-09 round of the grants program are being accepted between 12 September and 24 November 2008

All Yarra Plenty Region Local History groups are encouraged to apply for funding. Contact the Local History librarian for a support letter for your project.
