Yarra Plenty Regional Library services the outer municipalities of Nillumbik, Whittlesea and Banyule in the north of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This blog promoting local history in our community has been operating since 2006 and is managed by the Local and Family History Librarian.

Boiled wheat and Rabbit
Autobiographical reminiscences by Reg Johnson O.A.M. includes his life in MacLeod, Rosanna and Heidleberg and his involvement in local environmental issues, including the Warringal Conservation Society, Macleod Progress Association and the Bird Observers Club - now in the Local History collection at Rosanna Library.

Memory and place: Victorians’ digital stories
Australian Centre for the Moving Image
ACMI’s Memory and Place project seeks to explore the collective memory of
Victorians through the moving image. Accessed via an interactive map of
Victoria, short films (up to seven minutes) illustrate individual’s and
communities’ relationships to the places that are important to them. ACMI
actively seeks the stories of Victorians, regardless of their level of
film-making skills, in order to document Victoria’s living history.

History of the Diamond Valley Uniting Church
Another new addition to the Diamond Valley and Eltham collections, "A History of the Diamond Valley Uniting Church, Volume 1 : a century of Methodism 1861-1961" by Historian Lesley Alves, published in 2001 recently donated by the author.
