Alan Sartori exhibition

Nillumbik Historical Society will this weekend host an exhibition of paintings from the late local artist Alan Sartori.

Mr Sartori passed away in August 2007 and was a local resident of Diamond Creek and prior to that Greensborough. He enjoyed painting the landscape of where he lived and beyond painting all over Victoria and New South Wales. His paintings are held in collections in every Australian state as well as internationally.

You can also visit the new display of chainsaw sculpture done by Rob Bast depicting a miner. This has been carved into an Elm tree which was more than 100 years old. The Elm had been removed from the Main Road in Diamond Creek to make way for a set of traffic lights.

Ellis Cottage was built of local stone in 1864. The heated Barn which also houses many historic artifacts and photos of the area is a nice place to have a cup of tea or coffee with cake.

The exhibition will be held at
Ellis Cottage,
Hurstbridge Road,
Diamond Creek
