Queen’s Honour to Greensborough historian


The Order of Australia in the General Division was recently awarded in the Queen's Birthday Honour list to Mrs Valerie Wilson. Val now a resident of Mornington has a long time connection to the Greensborough area and has been active in the Greensborough Historical Society, especially in its establishment period during 2010. She has also been involved in other local heritage activities. Visit the It's an Honour Website. Congratulations Val.

Local Historians acclaimed

Foundation Member and Newsletter Editor of Heidelberg Historical Society John Adams is retiring from his position as editor after compiling 285 The Heidelberg Historian  editions over the past 48 years.
Heidelberg Historical Society Secretary Janine Rizetti was acknowledged by Jenny Macklin MP at the recent Australia Day community awards.
Helen Kenny of St Andrews Historical Society has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her service with the St Andrews Fire Brigade,Nillumbik Group fire brigades and historical groups.
