Swimming in Greensborough

Were you one of the thousands of people who learned to swim at the Greensborough outdoor swimming pool?  Greensborough Historical Society recently set up a new display on the history of swimming in the district at Diamond Valley Library at the rear of the Local History collection cabinet.

The display includes photographs and historical newspaper articles from  the days of swimming in the Plenty River to the opening of the new WaterMarc facility.

Wet Feet Walking

A DVD has recently been launched "Wet Feet Walking" which documents the People’s History of Greensborough Outdoor Swimming Pool.

This Community Arts Project was initiated by a local photographer and community development worker, who wanted to record and honour the old pool, and preserve the stories about this important community hub.

Photographs, interviews, soundscapes and atmospheric music are woven together to create a reflective history of the pool, told by its people. The documentary was launched on the 22nd August.

Screenings are planned during November and December at Yarra Plenty Regional Library, in the meantime if you would like to purchase a copy of the DVD contact:
