Whittlesea Cricket Club history
The Whittlesea cricket club are currently researching the history of the club which they believe was formed back in 1884. There is a transcript of a cricket match between Whittlesea & Junior Clyde on 18.04.1884 taken from the Evelyn Observer.
The Club would be happy to hear from members of the community who may have photos, memorabilia, newspaper clippings and anecdotes that could contribute to their project.
They are also interested in researching the Players mentioned in the article. These names include:
Howse, Stewart, Nelson, Shiney, Morris, Dew, Ryan, Shearn, W. Faulkingham,
J. Faulkingham, Owens.
If you have any information you could contribute please contact:
Liz Pidgeon (Local History librarian) lpidgeon@yprl.vic.gov.au
