Watsonia Barracks

News today from The Herald Sun that the Army's School of Signals at Watsonia in Melbourne's northeast has been earmarked for sale.

A significant greenspace and landmark in the Watsonia community - Watsonia barracks was renamed Simpson barracks after Major General Colin Simpson in 1986. For some years the Barracks held annual Open Days for the community, with static displays, mock battles and parachute drops. Visit the Royal Australian Corps of Signals to learn more about the School of Signals, Watsonia and its history.

If this land is sold and developed, it will certainly change the face of this north west corner of Banyule.
