Maltese in Australia


Next week is National Family History Week, in conjunction with the Whittlesea Heritage Program Yarra Plenty Regional Library is encouraging residents with Maltese ancestry or anyone else interested in learning about this to attend

The first Maltese to arrive in Australia were convicts. By 2001 Victoria had the largest Maltese community in Australia, many settling in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Come along to this session to learn some tips and strategies for researching your Maltese family history. Presented by Yvonne Izatt of the International Settlers Group of the Genealogical Society of Victoria.
