The year 1913 is recognised as the beginning of the Plenty
township. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of land in Plenty being opened up
for subdivision, and to coincide with registration of the first land sales, the
weekend of 12–14 April 2013 has been chosen to celebrate the occasion.
The focus of the celebrations is the „Pioneers of Plenty‟,
our history past and present, and the contributions they have made.
The Plenty Historical Society Inc. are seeking interested
Nillumbik residents and others to participate in the activities, and also to
obtain names and addresses of former Plenty residents so they can be contacted
about the event.
For expressions of interest and further details contact the
society on 9435 9117 or kerlan@iinet.net.au.
