Community Newspapers


News Corp have announced changes to their regional and community newspapers across the country, including the Leader group.  Looking at our region, the Whittlesea Leader will no longer be printed and will be digital only moving forward.

Update 1/6/20. An article via the ABC confirms that the Heidelberg Leader and Diamond Valley Leader have ceased production. Heidelberg Historical Society were quoted in this article on 29/5 Scrapped newspapers were communities heart and soul say historians

The North Central Review  which is still being printed weekly, with digital editions available on their website and featured articles with focus on the City of Whittlesea, including Whitltesea township.

The Whittlesea Town Crier is published monthly and includes a digital edition on their website.  

Warrandyte diary is also published monthly and includes news from the Shire of Nillumbik. It includes feature articles on its website and a digitial edition.
