Historical Tour of The Centre Ivanhoe


If you have wondered what is behind the façade of The Centre Ivanhoe, or wished to see the view from the top of the tower this is the event for you.

The afternoon begins at 2.15 pm with an informative talk “SHIRE OFFICE TO GRAND TOWNHALL” on the history leading to the building of The Centre, by Peter Williams a Vice-President of the Society.

LOCATION: Heidelberg Historical Society Courthouse Museum, Corner Jika Jika St and Park Lane, Heidelberg.

After the talk a bus will depart from the Court House Museum, taking guests to The Centre Ivanhoe where a tour of the Centre will be conducted by Robin Grow, an expert on Art Deco Architecture, who will explain the architectural features and their context within this school of art.

Following this tour a bus will transport the guests for afternoon tea at the award winning Old England Hotel.

WHEN: SUNDAY 25 MARCH 2007, from 2.00 - 4.30pm

TICKET PRICE: $12.00 includes an afternoon tea of scones & cream.

RESERVATIONS: Ring the HHS Court House on 9455 2130 & leave a message on the answering machine with your name and a contact telephone number to reserve your ticket.

TOUR TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE for collection at the Heidelberg Historical Society COURT HOUSE MUSEUM located on the corner of JIKA JIKA ST & PARK LANE, Heidelberg
from 1 pm to 2 pm prior to the commencement of the talk. Any tickets not collected by 2pm will be made available to those without reservations.
