Local and Family History Librarian

The Margery C Ramsay and Barrett Reid scholarships are awarded by the Library Board of Victoria (State Library of Victoria) to a Victorian public library staff member to support their leadership development. The scholarships are awarded in alternate years.
In 2012, the Margery C Ramsay Scholarship was awarded. In November 2012, Yarra Plenty Regional Library’s local and family history Librarian Liz Pidgeon was awarded the 2012 Scholarship for her project “Family and Local History Services in the UK and USA”.

She leaves next week for a five week trip and will attend two major international genealogy conferences and visit major family history and local history research facilities in the UK and USA.

First stop is Who Do You Think You Are Live proclaimed to be “the biggest family history event in the world”.
